The Rock Rimmon Story

Rock Rimmon originally opened as an RV campground and manufactured home community and is now a 100-home, resident-owned manufactured home community.

But that transition didn’t happen overnight. First, we formed the Rock Rimmon Cooperative, Inc. and started on the path to resident-ownership. Then, with the help of ROC-NH, a program of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund and ROC USA, LLC, we purchased and took control of our community on Jan. 28, 2016.

Now, the resident-owned community (ROC) is not only a successful business, but also a thriving neighborhood.

The process of the resident-owned community buying the land beneath our neighborhood brought this community closer together. Not only do we know far more of our neighbors than ever before, but we look out for one another, too. And with no outside landlord to report to, we’re the envy of other nearby manufactured home communities.

Our Member households elect our Board of Directors, which works with a property management firm and also appoints various volunteer committees to help with special projects, celebrations, community improvements and more. The Board submits a budget every year, and the entire Membership votes on it and any changes to the rent before the budget becomes official. We’re running the business that is our community on our terms, by our rules, for the betterment of ourselves and our neighbors.

Rock Rimmon is centrally located in southern New Hampshire in the town of Danville. We enjoy easy access to NH Routes 111, 121A and 107, which connect us with NH 101, 93, Interstate 95 and MA Interstate 495. Raymond, Exeter and Derry, NH, along with Haverhill, MA, are less than 13 miles away. Manchester is 35 minutes away.

We are just five minutes from Colby Memorial Library, with many activities and events offered on site for all ages. Craving the smell of the ocean? Rock Rimmon is a 35-minute drive to Hampton Beach, or 45 minutes from Portsmouth. The Portsmouth Farmers’ Market on summer Saturdays offers more than 50 vendors to visit. Winter activities are abundant nearby including cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.

We are moments from the boat launch at Long Pond, a local favorite spot for spending the morning in a small boat, canoe or kayak, and known for fishing. For a day on the water, Kingston State Park is a 10-minute drive and offers picnic areas, a bathhouse, canoe rentals and excellent swimming in Great Pond. Rock Rimmon residents can stay closer to home and enjoy the community pool and taking walks through our friendly neighborhood.

Rock Rimmon is a well-established community for people who enjoy a welcoming neighborhood in an ideal location.

Ask anyone who lives in Rock Rimmon, and we’re sure they’ll tell you it’s a little slice of heaven.
